KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The purpose of the role will be to find and realize new growth options in the field of electronics and sensors and related areas like printed electronics. This includes M&A opportunities as well as organic growth options.
• Developing decision proposals for entry of market segments based on
- Market analysis
- Market segmentation and analysis of segment size and growth
- Technology trends analysis
- Analysis of current players especially customers and potential competitors
- Selection of potential M&A targets
• Focusing on electronics and sensors and related markets like printed electronics
• Developing market entry strategies based on inorganic and organic growth options
• Building up and leading a remote international team of Business Development Managers and work with the team to translate strategic initiatives into actionable operational business plans
• Preparing and developing business cases that enable Heraeus’ ambitious growth tar-gets and leverage the position of Heraeus Electronics as a leading market player; presenting the business cases to the Business and Group Management
• Leading M&A and integration projects together with Heraeus’ M&A team and the Business Area Management
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate is a business-driven executive with an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong track record of achievement in international business development and corporate strategy within different industrial environments.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
• Proven experience in strategy development and market analysis of technology oriented markets; strong analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability to develop, operationalize and execute a business strategy, by gathering and analyzing data, evaluating alternate business models and hypotheses, and creating practical action plans that take strategies to results
• Sound knowledge in the markets of electronics, sensors and printed electronics
• Experience in communicating results to board members; generally, strong communication skills and experienced in managing various interfaces
• Ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels in a matrix environment, drive consensus within the organization, and develop trust based executive level relationships
• Ability to relate market analysis results to Heraeus’ vision and technologies

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• University degree in engineering, chemical or physical science and ideally an MBA
• Fully fluent in English, additional language skills would be an advantage
• Experience in Asian countries will be a clear advantage
BUSINESS AREA ELECTRONICS
A new Business Area Electronics is set-up to fully address the existing growth potential in the electronics markets. The two GBUs Heraeus Electronics Technologies (HET) and Heraeus Sensors Technologies (HST) are assigned to this Business Area with the main goal to in-crease focus on external growth projects and on bundling the capabilities for growth in adjacent markets.
Key trends driving growth in electronics and sensors include areas like autonomous driving and e-mobility, digitalization of health care and advanced environment protection and wider usage of artificial intelligence in day to day life, automation, and miniaturization.
Heraeus is well positioned in growing niche segments. HET is positioned as technology leader in materials solutions for electronic module assembly with double digit growth in the last years and a clear growth strategy. HST is market leader in temperature sensors with strong growth plans for the future. The new Business Area Electronics will leverage this position to become a broader player in the electronics and sensors value chain.
